1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, accessing, or using the Meal Prep - AI Meal Planner mobile application ("App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App.

These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and the developer of Meal Prep - AI Meal Planner ("we," "our," or "us").

2. Description of Service

Meal Prep - AI Meal Planner is an AI-powered mobile application that provides personalized meal planning, recipe generation, cooking guidance, and pantry management services. The App uses artificial intelligence to generate customized recipes and meal plans based on your preferences, dietary needs, and available ingredients.

Key Features Include:

• AI-generated personalized recipes and meal plans
• Recipe discovery with advanced filtering (cuisine, difficulty, cook time, dietary restrictions)
• Cooking mode with step-by-step guidance and automatic timers
• Smart shopping list management with pantry integration
• AI Chef Assistant for cooking guidance and recipe recommendations
• Recipe scaling, nutrition information, and rating system
• Photo capture and recipe sharing capabilities
• Barcode scanning for pantry management
• Offline functionality and local data storage

3. Account Requirements and Eligibility

• You must be at least 13 years old to use the App
• Users under 18 must have parental consent
• No account creation is required - the app works completely anonymously
• You are responsible for maintaining the security of your device
• You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your device

4. Fair Usage Policy

Usage Guidelines:

• AI features are provided for personal, non-commercial use
• Excessive automated requests may be limited to maintain service quality
• Premium subscribers receive priority access to AI features
• Usage limits help ensure fair access for all users

Prohibited Usage:

• Using automated tools, scripts, or bots to access the App
• Making excessive requests designed to overwhelm our systems
• Commercial use of AI-generated content without proper licensing
• Attempting to circumvent any usage limitations
• Using the App for any illegal or harmful purposes

5. Medical and Nutritional Disclaimers

Health and Safety:

• Always consult with qualified healthcare professionals before making significant dietary changes
• The App's recommendations are based on general nutritional guidelines and AI algorithms, not personalized medical advice
• We do not guarantee the accuracy of nutritional information or health recommendations
• Users with medical conditions, allergies, or dietary restrictions should verify all recommendations with healthcare providers
• The App is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease
• Pregnant or nursing women should consult healthcare providers before using meal plans

User Responsibility:

• You are solely responsible for evaluating the suitability of meal plans and recipes
• You assume all risks associated with following AI-generated meal plans
• You must verify ingredient safety and check for allergens before consuming any recommended foods
• Stop using the App and consult a healthcare provider if you experience any adverse effects

6. Intellectual Property Rights

Our Rights:

• The App, including its design, code, algorithms, and AI models, is protected by intellectual property laws
• All trademarks, service marks, and logos are owned by us or our licensors
• You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or lease any part of the App
• Reverse engineering, decompiling, or attempting to extract source code is prohibited

Your Content:

• You retain ownership of photos, recipes, and other content you create or upload
• By using the App, you grant us a license to process your content to provide services
• You represent that you have the right to upload and share any content you submit
• We may remove content that violates these Terms or applicable laws

7. Prohibited Conduct

Prohibited Activities:

• Illegal Use: Using the App for any illegal purpose or in violation of local, state, national, or international laws
• Harmful Content: Uploading or sharing content that is offensive, harmful, threatening, abusive, or discriminatory
• System Abuse: Attempting to hack, disrupt, or damage the App's infrastructure or security
• Spam and Fraud: Engaging in fraudulent activities or spreading spam
• Commercial Misuse: Using the App for unauthorized commercial purposes
• Impersonation: Pretending to be another person or entity
• Intellectual Property Infringement: Uploading content that violates others' copyrights, trademarks, or patents

8. Subscription and Payment Terms

• Premium subscriptions are processed through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store
• Prices are subject to change with notice
• Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled
• Refunds are governed by respective app store policies
• We do not store or process payment information directly
• Premium features are only available to active subscribers

9. Privacy and Data Protection

Your privacy is important to us. Our collection, use, and protection of your personal information is governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.

Key Privacy Principles:

• We do not collect, store, or process personal data
• All data remains on your device
• Anonymous meal preferences are sent to AI services only
• No user accounts or personal information required

10. Limitation of Liability

Disclaimer of Warranties:

• The App is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind
• We do not warrant that the App will be error-free or uninterrupted
• We do not guarantee the accuracy of nutritional information or AI recommendations
• We disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability and fitness for purpose

Limitation of Damages:

• Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for the App in the 12 months preceding the claim
• We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages
• We are not responsible for damages arising from your use of meal plans or recipes
• We are not liable for health issues, allergic reactions, or dietary complications

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless the Meal Prep - AI Meal Planner service from and against any claims, damages, losses, costs, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from:

• Your use or misuse of the App
• Your violation of these Terms
• Your violation of any rights of another party
• Content you upload or share through the App
• Any health issues arising from following meal plans or recipes

12. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

• These Terms are governed by the laws of Ontario, Canada
• Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of Ontario courts
• We encourage resolving disputes through direct communication first
• If legal action becomes necessary, the prevailing party may recover reasonable attorneys' fees

13. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. When we make material changes, we will:

• Update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page
• Notify users through in-app notifications when possible
• Include information about changes in App Store update notes
• Provide at least 30 days' notice for material changes

Your continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

14. Termination

Your Right to Terminate:

• You may stop using the App at any time
• You may delete the App from your device to remove all data
• Premium subscriptions should be cancelled through your app store account

Our Right to Terminate:

• We may discontinue the App with 60 days' notice
• We may restrict access for violations of these Terms
• Termination may be immediate for serious violations

Effect of Termination:

• Your right to use the App immediately ceases
• All data stored locally on your device will be removed when you delete the app
• Sections of these Terms that should survive termination will remain in effect

15. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect. The unenforceable provision will be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it enforceable.

16. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Meal Prep - AI Meal Planner regarding the use of the App. These Terms supersede any prior agreements or understandings.
